Hamilton K-8 participates in the grassroots call for students and staff to recognize and pay tribute to the children who lost their lives at the Florida school shooting.

We decided as a school to make use of this opportunity by educating our students and centering the event on kindness and self-advocacy. For students in the TK – 4th grade Student Leadership hosted a kindness campaign. In remembrance of the 17 students lost in this recent tragedy, students were encouraged to do 17 acts of kindness. Students in grades 5th through 8th grade lined the walkways off of Nave Drive with their teachers for 17 minutes. Each classroom created a message to remind those passing by to pay attention to our youth, encourage parents to check in with their children and other messages that support our students’ social and emotional health.
